Five Color Classifications

After much study of color on both personal and professional levels, I found that most of the color systems available were either too simplistic to cover the many ranges in skin tones or too complex for any single woman to master for herself alone.

As a result, I have narrowed my color choices down to five color classifications, based on nature. Those are: Ocean, Sky, Earth, Fire & Flora. Why these classifications?

The main premise behind this system is that there are two major colorations in skin tones, cool and warm. Each has two sub-categories, low-contrast and high-contrast. Ina ddition, there is a group of women who tend to fall firmly in the middle, a neutral group, if you will, that can take colors from nearly all pallettes and make them work for her.

Ocean representes low-contrast cool colorations. I chose ocean as the natural representative of this coloration in nature. The colors of the ocean tend to be more muted and soft. Undersea, event he most glowing colors are softened by the water around them, and cooled by the very color of that water.

Sky represents high-contrast cool colorations. Skies and light come in every color of the rainbow, including rainbows! From majestic majentas to fiery corals to sky blue, the colors one the best days are clear and sharp, vivid and exciting.

Basic fashion – something like the Gap – is much better than medium middle-class dead clothes. I’ve always felt that way.
